Our Equipment

CEREC

CEREC is a dental restoration product that allows a dental practitioner to produce an indirect ceramic dental restoration using a variety of computer assisted technologies, including 3D photography and CAD/CAM. With CEREC, teeth can be restored in a single sitting with the patient, rather than the multiple sittings required with earlier techniques. Additionally, with the latest software and hardware updates, crowns, veneers, onlays and inlays can be prepared, using different types of ceramic material.

Microscopes

Operating Microscopes

These allow Dr. Crapo to work at the microscopic level. These operating microscopes magnify the operating field so that precision technique and quality of work can be accomplished. They are used for root canal therapy, precise crown placement, and finishing of teeth so that they look like there is no demarcation between tooth and restorative material. It also allows for a diagnosis of disease, cracks, causes of breakdown, etc.

Phase Contrast Microscope

Microbiology is the reason for much breakdown in our bodies—to say nothing of the mouth where bacteria is everywhere! It’s not enough just to brush and floss and think you’re cleaning your teeth. We must know more. We must know the organisms—bacterial, parasitic, yeasts, moulds, fungi, etc., that exist in the mouth.

X-Rays

Panographic and Cephalometric X-Ray Equipment

These are used for face measurements, tooth-bone relationships, wisdom tooth location, obviously any pathology and disease in the jaw bones.

Transcranial X-Ray Equipment

Transcranials are used to locate the ball of the temporomandibular joint as it relates to its socket. This allows us to know where the ligaments and disc that separate the ball and socket are located. It gives us ideas as to the wear and tear, disease, trauma, etc., of the temporomandibular joint.

Doppler (Ultrasound)

Allows us to understand the inside of the joint as well.

Intraoral Camera

Helps to diagnose, demonstrate problems as it pertains to teeth, soft tissue.

Dental Implant Equipment

All dental implants are placed at Dr. Crapo’s office, and also are restored at Dr. Crapo’s office—in other words, both the surgical and prosthetic processes are done on-site.

Digital Camera

For archival and practice display purposes.
