Advances in Dental Technology

Dentistry has undergone numerous changes and experienced technological advances in the last few years that provide today's dentist with a multitude of conservative esthetic alternatives for the restoration of natural dentition. It is now possible to repair an entire oral cavity "metal free" without sacrificing healthy tooth structure or strength. Today we can make "metal free" crowns, bridges, veneers with porcelain application that provide the same translucency and vitality as natural teeth.

Old silver fillings can certainly be replaced with white filling materials but if an ideal restoration is to be made a porcelain inlay/onlay would be the choice. This is a ceramic restoration which is made by the dental technician to specifically replace the missing tooth structure and gets bonded to the tooth.
