For Dr. Crapo,

TESTIMONIAL REGARDING VENEERS
By Theresa Bassett-Price

I APPROACHED THE ENTIRE DENTAL VENEER ISSUE WITH SOME TREPIDATION! I HAVE NEVER BEEN A FAN OF SEVERE ORAL PAIN!

DR. CRAPO ASSURED ME, HOWEVER, THAT THERE WOULD BE NO PAIN AND ONLY SOME MINOR DISCOMFORT (HE HAD ALREADY FITTED ME WITH A CANTILEVER BRIDGE-THANK GOODNESS FOR HIS IV SEDATION-HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I'M MISSING ALL OF MY MOLARS AND MY NATURAL TEETH HAD DECAYED DUE TO A MEDICATION I’D BEEN ON FOR YEARS WHICH CAUSED DRY MOUTH. I HADN'T ENJOYED CHEWING TOUGH FOODS FOR YEARS!)

SURE, VENEERS MAKE YOU LOOK A LOT BETIER, BUT I WAS CONCERNED WITH THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF MY FRONT TEETH ESPECIALLY.

I WAS WORRIED THAT MY TEETH WERE WEARING DOWN AND CRUMBLING AS MY FATHER'S HAD.

IN MAY 2010, I DECIDED TO GO AHEAD WITH MY VENEERS.

AFTER DENTAL IMPRESSIONS WERE TAKEN, THE ACTUAL NEW PORCELAIN TEETH WERE MADE AND I WAS VERY PLEASED TO BE ABLE TO SEE THEM BEFORE I HAD MY PROCEDURE! THEY WERE PERFECT!

EVEN THOUGH I WAS NERVOUS ABOUT THE ACTUAL PROCEDURE, I WAS REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO HAVING MY NEW TEETH! I WAS ABLE TO HAVE IV SEDATION AGAIN (LIKE I’D HAD WITH MY BRIDGES) WHICH MADE THE WHOLE PROCESS SEEM LIKE A BREEZE.

AT HOME, THE AFTERCARE (NUMEROUS SALT WATER RINSES- EWWW SALT WATER!) WASN’T A PROBLEM AND I WAS ABLE TO EAT SOFT FOODS.

AFTER A COUPLE OF WEEKS, THE TEMPORARY TEETH WHICH DR. CRAPO HAD INSTALLED WERE REMOVED (UNDER IV SEDATION OF COURSE!) AND I FINALLY HAD MY PERMANENT PORCELAIN VENEERS!

SLOWLY, I WAS ABLE TO RE-INTRODUCE ALL SORTS OF NEW FOODS! LIKE CRUNCHY APPLES, CELERY AND BROCCOLI-SLAW!

I HAVE HAD MY VENEERS A YEAR AND A HALF NOW! I TAKE CARE OF THEM WITH A PHILLIPS SONICARE TOOTHBRUSH, DENTAL FLOSS AND SENSODYNE TOOTHPASTE. I GO FOR REGULAR CHECK-UPS WITH DR. CRAPO (WHO IS A PERFECTIONIST AND TAKES REALLY GREAT CARE OF MY TEETH!) OF COURSE, THEY LOOK MARVELLOUS (VASTLY SUPERIOR TO MY OLD TEETH!)

CHOOSING TO GO AHEAD AND GET VENEERS IS THE BEST THING I HAVE EVEN DONE FOR MYSELF! IT HAS TOTALLY IMPROVED MY APPEARANCE (I DON’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT REMEMBERING NOT TO SMILE FOR THE CAMERA ANYMORE!) AND I CAN EAT BROCCOLI-SLAW AGAIN!

I first met Dr Ross Crapo and some members of his team in March of 2005.  I had taken the time to search through the listings of those in the Medical Health Care field of Dentistry and talked to some friends, who, like myself had been retired for a few years. I was pleased to read that Dr. Ross Crapo's philosophy in proper dental care, projects the resulting beneficial affects to good general health and wellbeing.   I was also very interested in the claim of a "pain free relaxed visit"   I would think to most of the general public, who have a dental appointment pending, this statement  gets one's attention.  I am sure, that many people of my approximate age, remember, the painful time, as young school children, extractions were carried out, like it or not, in order "to leave room".  I must say, that Dr. Ross Crapo's claim really got my attention. However, my first visit to Dr. Ross Crapo's offices was most reassuring. Upon entering the reception area I was aware of the warm and friendly atmosphere of the employees. This, I found was the personality of the whole team working with Dr. Ross Crapo. The visit was to determine the current status of my dental situation and to outline a program to correct and restore to optimum condition. The program, in summary, required, bone grafting, dental implants and crowns. The program began in March of 2005 and was completed in May of 2007.Throughout this period; many progressive stages of surgery were completed and monitored. All supporting and laboratory services are in house, under Dr. Ross Crapo's control. My program included many different surgical operations all requiring sedation. Not once, throughout the whole program, did I experience any discomfort at all.  Initially, I found this to be a very pleasant surprise and then it became the "norm" for all the operations. Dr. Ross Crapo's claim for "pain free relaxed visit" I can confirm without hesitation. I would add that the claim should be extended to all dental operations. It is now more than four years since my program was completed, which resulted, for me in possessing a perfect "bite" and appearance. More important, I now enjoy good dining again and the beneficial effects of good health and well-being. All the Kudos to Dr. Ross Crapo and his great team.
Kindest regards Peter Andrews

Dr. Crapo, Tammy, Leona, Jennifer, Emma and everyone else
Thank you for making my dental ordeal less traumatic over the past two years. I'm nicely de-sensitized now and can actually walk into the office without almost hyperventilating. A dental office will never be my favourite place to go, but I won't hesitate to ever come back! Your kindness and efficiency have won me over.
Sincerely, Heather

Dr. Crapo,
My sincere "thanks" to you for always taking care of me when these emergencies happen. I realize how busy you are yet you always fit me in and it's appreciated more than you know.
Susan

Dr. Crapo,
My headaches began about 4 years ago when I was pregnant. I assumed that it was just a pregnancy thing. When they continued post partum, my doctor thought that it was posture related due to pregnancy and carrying my daughters about because the pain was also in my neck and back. However after months of physiotherapy without change we thought that maybe it was a food allergy. After months of food elimination’s with no avail we tried muscle relaxants, antidepressants, and other stress medications thinking that the headaches were stress induced. With still no relief, I was referred to a neurologist who said I was fine.

I would often describe my headaches as a headache in my ears. I could feel and hear noise vibrate in my ears. On top of my continuous headache I would get a severe pain shoot through my head and everything would go fuzzy like a channel on television that you don’t get. This would last for about 10-20 seconds where I would have to brace myself and wait for it to pass. Any sudden movement or loud sound would cause this to happen many times throughout the day. Just having a simple conversation was difficult. It was difficult enough just concentrating with such a bad headache in the first place, but if the other person laughed or spoke too loud it would set off that pain and the fuzziness and by the time I’d recovered I’d missed what they had said. This was constant, so I hated to be anywhere where I might have to talk to anyone, i.e. the grocery store, the park.

My headaches were usually 4 to 5 days on and 1 day off. On the first day of the headache I would just cry because I knew that it was just going to get worse for the next 4 days. By the fifth day I would get really disoriented, I couldn’t even think. I would be walking down the street with my two girls in the double stroller and I wouldn’t be able to remember where I was going – to the store, playgroup, a friend’s house. I would call my husband crying asking him if he knew where we were going. There were a few times where I would be driving to a local store or home on my usual route but I just couldn’t figure out which way I was supposed to be going. I know it sounds like there was a lot more wrong with me than grinding my teeth. That is what I kept telling Dr. Crapo. At first I’d get an hour of relief or so after an appointment. For the most part I still had the headaches but not as severe. Eventually they became fewer and fewer. I could usually tell if we missed something in the occlusial adjustments within an hour just by how my head felt. And then when my teeth would shift, it felt like we were starting all over again. So often I just didn’t think that this was going to work. It has been over two months now without a headache. How do you thank someone for giving you your life back?

Sincerely, Monique McColl

“Check out this smile!!! I have had extensive dental treatment by Dr. Crapo. My mouth looks excellent and my experience in this office was exceptional. Dr. Crapo’s work is the best. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this office a 10 plus!”

I was visiting Victoria on business for several weeks, and broke a tooth in a sporting accident. Dr. Crapo was recommended by a colleague, and he made time in his day to get me out of pain immediately. As I am in the public eye I also needed a temporary crown on which his team did a wonderful job. The fees were fair, and if I lived in this area he would be my first choice for my long term dentist. Thank you!

My whole family sees Dr Crapo, I've recommended friends and we all swear by him. I think he is fantastic. The staff is very friendly. I've had to re-schedule last minute; they have been very accommodating and not charged me. I'm very happy with the services Dr Crapo and his staff.

Dr. Crapo has been my dentist all of my life and from the stories I have heard of other dentists I am glad of it.

Seventeen years ago I underwent surgery for this affliction (oral cancer) - I had been a smoker but had given it up quite a while before.... You are offering a wonderful service - I am so fortunate to have lived to a ripe old age of 88.

Oral Cancer Screening Days)
